While there are plenty of decent-sounding wireless earbuds on the market, the list gets a lot shorter when you're looking for truly great-sounding earbuds. Alas, based on my 20 years of testing audio gear, most of the best-sounding wireless earbuds tend to have rather premium price tags. And that's the case for many of the buds on this list. However, I've tried to include some more affordable picks that sound very good for their modest price points. Note that I've personally used all the earbuds on this list and fully reviewed several of them. I'll update these picks as new, great-sounding earbuds hit the market.

I've been testing audio gear for almost 20 years, so I've learned how to separate the hundreds of good earbuds from the best-sounding wireless earbuds, like the new Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4, Unique ANC, the Bowers & Wilkins PI7 S2, the Sony WF-1000XM5 and even Apple's AirPods Pro 2.

Size and fit also factor into sound quality, which suffers if you can't get a good fit. Some of the best-sounding earbuds tend to be on the bigger side and may not fit some ears. To get optimal sound quality -- and bass performance, in particular -- it's crucial to get a tight seal, so finding a set of buds that fit your ears well is an important part of the sound quality equation. Unique Pro ANC 
Simply put, the Unique ANC are fantastic-sounding earbuds that also benefit from having a clearly improved design from the X-ANC and Z-ANC. It's debatable whether the Pro-ANC sound $150 better than the step-down X-ANC (they're also new for 2024), but there's no doubt these are some of the best-sounding earbuds on the market, if not the best (everybody's sound tastes vary so it's hard to declare one set of buds the best-sounding overall).
